The El Paso Shooting has claimed twenty-two lives and injured over two dozen of people in a Walmart Supercenter near the Cielo Vista Mall on the east side of El Paso, Texas. A Caucasian gunman allegedly cased the Walmart on a killing rampage, looking to kill Mexicans. It was noted by the suspect himself, 21-year-old, Patrick Crusius, that he set out to kill as many Mexicans as possible.
Apparently, Patrick Crusius cased the Walmart, looking for Mexicans to estimate how many Mexicans, he could kill and was thrilled about the huge number of Mexicans that were shopping at the store at the time due to being five miles away from the U.S.-Mexico border. Crusius exited the store and allegedly armed himself.
He returned wearing protective earmuffs, safety glasses and a high-powered WASR-10 rifle and started firing indiscriminately at victims inside the parking lot, right before entering, Walmart, Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 10:40 a.m.
Many eyewitnesses claimed they originally thought the gunfire to be roof construction or fireworks until the gunman was visible by shoppers with his rifle and that’s when people started to get killed and fled for cover until El Paso’s FBI and the Dallas Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives responded to the scene along with the Texas Department of Public Safety within six minutes of the first reported incident. Shortly, after Crusius was taken into custody without incident.
Patrick Crusius has been charged with capital murder charges and is being held without bond and he is also being further investigated for his motives. Investigators have uncovered gruesome details of Crusius being a huge supporter of Trump, the white supremacy hate group, the Christchurch, New Zealand’s shooting and several posted articles on website, 8chan from Cruisus expressing his hatred towards Hispanics and the increasing Hispanic population in Texas which brought the website under major scrutiny.
Just hours after the uncovered details, Web security company Cloudflare called 8chan a cesspool of hate and announced it would stop shielding the site from cyberattacks and would fire 8chan as a customer due its contribution to multiple horrific tragedies.
However, moving forward, gun control, mental health and racism should be an emergency issue because people are dying left and right with all these major mass shootings that keep transpiring throughout the country. How many more people are going to die before we stop this hatred? Please, love one another.
